During my stay within the four walls of the tertiary institution, I was the academic scholar of my department. While many people think being a scholar means you are on top of the world as a result of your good grades and excellent results, I always found myself battling with questions like:

• Does being a scholar in the university means success out of it?
• Are good grades in school equivalent to being successful in the labor market?
• Why do we need to obtain these grades at schools in the first place?
• How can we study and convert these good grades gotten from school into fortunes outside the educational institutions?
• Above getting an education, what else do we need to make our headway outside academia?

Indeed, these questions are worthy of a student’s attention. For the last resort of a student is the society at large (not even only the labor force). Thus, I wrote this book in order to talk about how I scaled through the hurdles of schooling and in the process learnt the ways by which I self-educated himself.

It discusses the difficulties I encountered and privileges I enjoyed right from the primary level to the secondary cadre and onto the tertiary institution. This book explained how well I have succeeded out of school even though the common mentality of people about scholars is that they do not make it outside the university if they are not retained as a lecturer.
